Kelly Kettle

January 31, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I think I need some serious therapy now, but anyway I came across this website that sells a stove type thing called a kelly kettle. The kettle/stove seems to work in a similar way to a rocket stove.

Heres the link: http://www.kellykettle.com

Ok, I’m off before the men and women in white coats come and carry me off!

UPDATE:

Ok I’m back again, been doing some research into the kelly kettle and have been impressed by the reviews it has been given, so I have decided to buy myself a 2.5 pint version and give it a test run.

Once I have received it and fully tested it by making lots of mugs of coffee I shall write a little review.

Earthship Homes

January 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I stumbled upon the earthship concept a few years ago, they are basically a home made from old car tyres. I have to be honest here, but the idea of using old tyres as a bulding material is very unique and not one I am totally comfortable with.

I have heard that tyres release a gas over time, not sure how the earthship would deal with that issue.

Check this video out, you must admit they do look pretty cool, even though they look like something out of star wars.

All we need now is Yoda!

NASA says that we are due to be entering into a period of intense Solar Storms, these storms are predicted to be bigger than any Solar Storms in the last 50 years.

Not sure why this will effect you, maybe this short video will help shed some light on the situation.
